Volume 6 of this series covers the entire history of the evolution of the solo piano sonata in Russia and the Soviet Union from 1850 to the present day.
Emphasis is on the Russian Piano School, analysis of the various sonatas, and historical context. Special subjects include Russian romanticism, Russian mysticism, Russian avant-garde sonatas and sonatas composed in the outlying Soviet Republics in the twentieth century.
