The story begins with my father, an Airman in the United States Air Force, who served as an aircraft mechanic with the 56th Air Rescue Squadron. As one of his three sons, I vividly remember the anticipation we felt whenever he returned from his duties-whether oversea or domestic air bases. His homecomings were were always special, not only because of his presence but also because he carried with him gifts that sparked our imaginations: the latest model airplanes. That early spark has guided me through life, resurfacing with even greater purpose today.
