Rosa L. Jones grew up the oldest of seven children, in New Orleans, Louisiana. There she grew up during a period where black women had only few choices to have a career. She chose to become a Mathematics teacher. At home she was the mother to four children, while at school her dedicated commitment to educating others made her the mother to thousands of children, over a 36-year career, teaching those who were seeking a way to escape the projects of New Orleans.
Rosa, touch the hearts and minds of so many children through a tough-love approach to education. I can remember her saying, “I’ve got mine, now you have to fight to get yours”. This book tells of her personal stories that required her to fight beyond her comfort zone of mathematics to become a student herself and now use words instead of numbers to reveal her truest self. Within the pages of this book, you will get to explore her DAYBOOK and read the Stories from the Mind of a Mathematician.
