Volume 7 of this series covers the entire field of the piano sonata literature in the twentieth century and early part of the twenty-first century. The text consists of an introduction and special topics including the piano sonata in America, Great Britani, Europe and several outlying countries. Special emphasis is given to piano sonatas from the avant-garde school. A brief history of the key sonatas and analysis, and appreciation are provided.
