Mountain Women Live On

This book describes how Appalachian Women live on in the lives of their granddaughters in terms of Appalachian traditions, values, and dreams. It includes the results of genealogical research into four families who settled in Hopkins Gap, Virginia. Hopkins Gap is an area in the Allegheny Range of the Appalachians. Folk settled in the gap between Little North Mountain and Second Mountain. They we isolated for many years due to roads being unavailable for year around travel.
