Self-Portraits and Autobiographical Text:
Reflections by Carin Drechsler-Marx of her grief
over the loss of her late husband Henry Marx who
died unexpectedly on June 22, 1994 while on
vacation with Carin in the Swiss Alps. Henry, 27 years Carin’s
senior, was a Holocaust survivor while Carin’s father
belonged to the Waffen-SS. Still, their deep love for
one another proved that love is the only answer to hatred.
